It was just a dream
but it felt like God
leaning over
whispering into my ear
a secret.
I was in a normal room
in a normal office then
I looked up.
And I saw everything.
The galaxies spinning through space,
the solar systems drifting into nowhere,
suns blazing into novas,
planets spinning into formation,
comets singing their siren songs,
wormholes twisting through time,
nebulae breathing out and breathing in,
the pillars of heaven stretching into eternity.
Scarlet reds flashing,
gold and silver blazing,
sparkling turquoise,
shimmering purple,
colors so beautiful
they could only be of a spectrum
hidden from the human eye.
It was of an immortal beauty
I had never seen before
and will never see again.
And I felt I could touch it,
the universe and all there is.
I could feel it,
I could breathe it in,
I could talk to it,
I could hear it sing,
I could walk among it
and be a part of it.
And when I awoke,
I knew what I would do
If I were God.
I would allow every man, woman and
child just once
to see what I saw,
when we need most to glimpse
the beauty and the vastness
of the neverending grand
design of life
unstoppable and invincible
spread throughout time and eternity
of which we are such a small part
that we cannot see
what we belong to.
